Frequently asked questions & General policies

What is your pickup and drop off policy?

To ensure a smooth transition into the daily schedule, parents should drop off no earlier than 8:45. We ask that all parents are off campus by 9:15 at the latest so that campers can get in the groove. Campers in the half-day program need to be picked up at 1:00 p.m. Campers in the full day program should be picked up by 3:00.

Where do I drop off/pick up my child?

All traffic must enter the camp from the Mitchell Lane entrance and exit onto Butter Lane. For the safety of our campers, we ask that everyone drive slowly, park in designated areas only and open the driver's side window so that we can direct you.

Does the camp provide transportation?

Transportation is available for campers for a weekly fee. *Please note, the transportation fee cannot be prorated. Transportation is only for campers 5 and up who attend full-day (until 3:00) camp.

Does my child need to be potty trained to attend camp?

Yes. All campers must be at least 3-years-old and fully potty trained by the time of his or her first day of camp.

Are there any refunds or make-up days for absences?

Due to Hayground Camp’s limited enrollment, neither refunds nor make-up days can be given for absences, changes or withdrawals.

What should I send to camp with my child? Is there a packing list?

We have a full list of items to bring (or leave behind) for you here.

Medical and Emergency Contact forms

Trapeze Waiver

 packing list

Clothing: Campers should wear comfortable shoes, shorts and t-shirts to camp each day. All clothing, shoes, and equipment should be labeled with the camper’s first and last names.

In addition, you’ll need:

  • Towel

  • Bathing Suit

  • Sunscreen

  • Flip-flops or Water Shoes (optional)

Sunscreen: Parents should apply sunscreen to campers before arriving each day. Every camper must bring their own sunscreen, labeled with their first and last names. The sunscreen in their cubbies will be used during the day to refresh the morning application from home. Sunscreen cannot be shared among campers, due to possible skin allergies.

Lunch: Campers should bring a packed lunch to camp each day, labeled with their first and last names. Lunches are kept in a refrigerator in the camper’s room. For time and safety reasons, we request that parents do not pack lunches that require heating, or contain peanuts. Campers will be given snacks and water throughout the day.

3 & 4 Year-old Campers: In addition to the above items, 3 and 4 year-old campers must bring an extra change of clothing in a labeled bag to leave at camp.

Optional Items: Beyond the above items, Hayground provides everything campers need to participate in the daily program, including all sports equipment. You may want to bring, as desired or needed: Water Bottle Swim Goggles, Ear Plugs, Swimmies.

What NOT To Bring: Because camp is a busy place where campers are actively engaged in the daily program, we ask that campers do not bring handheld video games, toys or money to camp. These items are easily lost, and are a distraction from the activities offered. Water guns and other toy guns are not allowed at camp.

Cell Phones: Cell phones are not allowed at camp. If your child needs to make a phone call, they can ask their counselors and do so through the camp office. If you prefer that your child have a cell phone with them, we ask that the phone be stored in their cubby and used after camp hours or for emergency purposes only. If campers are caught with a cell phone, it will be confiscated until a parent can pick it up. This is all in an effort to encourage socialization and engagement with this community here and now.
